Abstract :
This work deals with characterization of the dynamic behavior of a single product supply chain (SC) composed by two levels. It is modeled by Industrial Dynamics concepts developed by Jay Forrester in the 60´s with the objective of determining the information and material flows using a discrete event system approach. There is a single inventory between assembly and distribution to attend a stochastic market demand. Using a replenishment policy with variable reorder point, two metrics are proposed to evaluate the SC performance under different demand. These metrics identify lead time and inventory intervals for which reduced disruption is observed.
