  • Abstract
Developing sensors or sensor systems requires precise knowledge of their technical properties. On the one hand the three-dimensional sensitivity of a sensor is of interest. On the other hand the transmission characteristics of transceiver systems, that transfer information or energy, depending on the distance between transmitter and receiver are of particular interest. Measurements can be useful if an analytical model or a simulation is not convertible. In this publication, a concept and an implementation of a three-dimensional measurement system are presented, that can examine the properties of sensors quickly and easily. The system uses the established software Matlab® integrating standard laboratory and measuring equipment. The system has a high resolution of 17 μm in all three spatial directions for a measurement volume of 60 × 60 × 60 cm. The data can be examined during the course of measurement. Several experiments were conducted to show the accuracy and functionality of the three-dimensional measurement system.
