Abstract
The reliability of the convertor in double-fed wind power generator set is relatively poor. Once the switch of the convertor fails, the entire wind turbine set may be severely damaged or shut down. As to the issues, an open-circuited fault detection method is proposed on the basis of parameter estimation for the switch of rotor side convertor in double-fed wind power generator set. A whole model is built combining the induction motor and the convertor according to the topology structure of double-fed wind power generator set; the least square method is used to estimate the model parameter online; the model parameter is compared with the threshold values to diagnose whether there exists a fault. The simulation results show that the method is feasible and valid.
