Abstract
This paper proposes a control strategy for the distributed generation based on isolated system, which consists of diesel generator, photovoltaic (PV)generator and battery. The diesel generator is used being a main energy source, but the photovoltaic generation is chosen as an additional power source due to the growth of the load demand and for establishing an isolated microgrid. The control of microgrid is very important for making stable operation of electric system. In case maintaining the system performance in voltage and frequency, the droop control is used for the power sharing among the microgrid system. The proposed droop control consists of power control, voltage control, and current control. Simulation is done in Matlab/Simulink™ to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control methods. Simulation resulted that the voltage and frequency of the system can be maintained when the photovoltaic and battery is added to the system. The proposed control can restored the voltage and frequency stability while the consuming load is changed to increasing or decreasing. Meanwhile the active power sharing can be dispatched each other between power sources.
