Abstract
The prioritization of medical equipments is considered a complex problem because it involves qualitative and quantitative criteria that are frequently conflicting. This paper develops an evaluation method based on the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to help the clinical engineer for the selection of the best medical equipment. A hierarchical structure is built for the prequalification of the criteria of the alternatives within the system. An application is conducted to illustrate the utilization of the method for the PET-CT equipment selection problem. The application could be interpreted as demonstrating the effectiveness of the proposed method.
