Abstract :
In complex electromechanical systems as airplanes, submarines, vehicles and others, often occurs a software error that is detected after the system has been manufactured and sold. This type of error can be eliminated by means of re-flashing the electronic board that is affected. Usually this is done manually via a wire connection and, as a result, the affected electronic device has to be physically present at a proper facility in order to perform the reprogramming process. Due to that, a wireless reflashing scheme for electronic boards, based on the Wi-Fi network, is presented in this work. The proof of concept of the scheme was developed using commercial electronic boards. It considers CAN (Controller Area Network) as the protocol communication for the electronic board to be re-programmed as it is widely used in automotive and aeronautics industry. Experimental results are described and some conclusions are addressed at the end of the document.
