Abstract
The radio frequency (RF) communication method usually is used for the information transmission on reconnaissance robot, but in flammable and explosive situation, the use of radio may bring unexpected danger. The carrying volume, weight, power consumption of the reconnaissance robot is very small, which cannot meet the needs of traditional two-way symmetric structure of wireless laser communication. So it is necessary to design lighter and smaller laser communication machine. This paper discussed an asymmetric laser communication link based on modulating retro reflector, arrayed multiple modulation retro reflector and detector, achieved a large field of view (FOV) communication that had the omnidirectional azimuth, 20 DEG of pitching angle, robot end reduced overall weight and power consumption without the scanning and tracking system, and had the higher reliability. Through the link power analysis and simulation, the communication distance could reach 1km, and the communication rate can achieve 10Mbps.
