  • Abstract
    The paper presents a new design of smart ammeter concentrator based on CAN bus communication technology. Our design adopts master-slave structure and builds multi CAN bus networks. One network is for the communication between host and slave, and the others are used for slave and ammeter. The slave can be dynamically added, which results in the increase of CAN bus network. The experimental results show that data transmission between each slave and ammeter in the distance of 1300m can be performed reliably, and the coverage area of the concentrator will be expanded as the increase of slave network as well. This design provides a scalable coverage area model for concentrator.
