Abstract :
A new technique called sample-ruler for evaluation of corrected transient energy margin (CTEM) is proposed in this paper. With the sample-ruler approach, a strategy for transient stability assessment (TSA) is introduced. This strategy is effective in filtering out harmless disturbances, in identifying critical generator group and in estimating CTEM with the sample-ruler approach. Case studies on the 10-generator 39-bus New England test power system are given to show the application of methodology.
