Abstract
This paper presents a Σ-Δ converter used for the temperature sensing and voltage monitoring. As the technology has moved toward to the lower voltage and higher gate density, the need to monitor the silicon temperature and supply voltage to prevent damage has become critical. Especially, in those systems with large power consumption with sudden power failure that may damage the system and be expense to be repaired. Therefore, it is better to have the monitor chips inside the system to prevent the failure. The Σ-Δ converter has the design advantages of a simple analog circuit and smaller die digital cell to achieve the low cost for monitoring
