Abstract
Summary form only given. One of the main problems that faces managers of business enterprises is electronic commerce. The challenge is to find an approach to e-commerce. Managers of business enterprises know that the Internet is a powerful tool for trade that is changing the way of doing business. Further, they know some competitors are already using the Internet not only for selling their products and services but for surveying customers, supplying mass and trade media with information and pictures, and managing and transferring funds. Therefore, their permanence in the market is threatened if they do not develop similar capabilities. An approach to overcome the overall challenge is introduced in this paper. First, a framework for successful consulting interventions is introduced. Then, it is modified to include specific aspects of e-commerce. The framework to approach and carry out successful consulting interventions includes a methodology integrating three parallel processes described in a generic model and a set of principles. The methodology is focused on bottom line results
