Abstract :
This paper describes a method used for PCG signals compression suitable for wireless cardiac patient monitoring applications. It is based on dictionary and bitmask compression techniques applied to the bit stream generated by the Set Partitioning In Hierarchical Trees (SPIHT) coding algorithm. The method yields good performances and allows for the SPIHT embedded coding property to be conserved.
