Abstract
Summary form only given. To benefit from the advantages of online learning, the Department of Business Administration and Informatics, University of Klagenfurt, decided to support existing courses by the development of a web-based pilot course. Thus, the course administration process could be winded up more efficiently and experiences with online learning could be gained. Therefore a number of collaborative and interactive learning tools were compared and the Lotus Notes LearningSpace program was decided to be best for the target set. Lotus LearningSpace was the means by which the course was managed by the instructor and teaching assistant. This paper gives an overview of the compared tools, the established criteria and the decision process
