  • Abstract
This paper presents important characteristics on the study of universal filters topologies. The integration of series and shunt active power filter was proposed in the work of Fujita and Akagi (1998), where the two converter shared the same dc-link bus voltage. By a steady state analysis it was noted that there is a significant difference between two voltage converters. The voltage capability of shunt convert is bigger than series converter for the most cases. This way, the authors analysis a topology with two dc-link voltages, to better design the converters voltages capabilities, consequently reduce the THD and power loss. By the steady state analysis it possible to show the limits of operation and the better parameters for: transformer turn ration and passive filters.
