  • Abstract
The aim of this research is to demonstrate the development of typography from wood printing block to movable type techniques as the origin of digital technology, and to research its conservation, use and transmission to the future generations. In this research I used a high-definition digital microscope to observe the structure of the ancient paper, using x20 magnification as minimum ratio. I further observed the minute structure of the fiber with x1000 magnification ratio. In this paper I introduce the method and results of my research. By using a digital 3D microscope it is possible to perform minute analysis, and indicate how the thickness of the board and the depth of the dent in the paper differ, depending on whether print and movable types were made or wood or metal.
