Abstract :
Central Processing Unit (CPU) is an important part of system, where most of the data processing is processed. Therefore, CPU temperature tends to be higher than other components. The high of CPU temperature can be anticipated by using the right tool to avoid a malfunction or a permanent damage in a CPU. In this study, the proportional-integral-derivative (PID) control was selected to manage the CPU temperature. The objective of this study was to obtain the information on the effect of using liquid cooling system fan for the CPU temperature. There were two stages: testing the effect of using liquid cooling system fan and the effect of the temperature control system. The first test result Personal Computer (PC) experiencing shutdown during the test without using a fan and PC is stable at a certain temperature when using a fan. The second test result obtained the CPU temperature was able to be reduced to a certain temperature, but still produce an error value for a particular setpoint. The error value which generated by differences temperature between CPU temperature and set point is influenced by the level of accuracy NTC Thermistor sensor. The result in this study, lack of convergence in this control system caused by rounding on the sensor.
