Abstract
What is the best way to entice new undergraduates into the world of electrical power engineering? Competition for students from other areas of electrical engineering has never been so intense. One school of thought suggests that if students have a positive experience in their initial power class, they will be more likely to continue in this field. This paper presents an industrial perspective and reviews this possible solution in a broader context.
