Abstract :
The e-CODEX project represents the first European Large Scale Pilot in the field of e-Justice which benefits particular group of stakeholders, from legal community to citizens, to solve daily life situations, based on legal procedures. Testing the European Payment Payment Order across borders outlines a real challenge not only for the public administrations (mainly courts), but also for the business environment and citizens - as is reducing time, unnecessary expenditures and is facilitating more rapid and efficient exchanges among all involved parties. This paper aims to provide insight into the entire flux of responsibilities and interoperable solutions designed by the e-CODEX consortium in supporting all these initiatives that are demonstrating that e-Justice, as we know it today, will encourage Member States to follow common procedures - with a preference for e-CODEX and the e-Justice Portal - not as options that are replacing the existing national systems, but as opportunities in setting up a common European path in the field of e-Justice.
