Abstract :
Amplify-and-forward (AF) based cooperation in a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) relay network with two antennas at each node over independent but not necessarily identically distributed Nakagami-m fading channels system is studied. In particular, we investigate the problem of hop-by-hop beamforming and combining in the considered set-up for any integer values of m. Maximum eigenvalue based criterion is used to calculate the beamforming and combining vectors. Analytical performance of the system is derived by using the moment generating function (MGF) based approach. By using the expression of MGF, a closed-form expressions for the probability density function and cumulative distribution function of the received signal-to-noise ratio is derived. In addition, outage probability of the beamforming and combining based AF MIMO relay system is also discussed, in this paper.
