Abstract
This paper focus on Space-Shift-Keying (SSK) modulation with polarization diversity for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) channels. The proposed scheme make use of dual polarized antenna array in SSK-MIMO wireless system to improve the system performance under LOS channel conditions, where high correlation is accounted between the wireless links. The main motivation behind the proposed scheme is to improve the system performance under LOS scenario, if mobile antenna inclination angle is taken into consideration. The average BER of the proposed scheme is analyzed for different antenna configuration. Numerical and simulation result of 2 × 2 and 2 × 4 SSK-MIMO shows that the performance of the SSK-MIMO with dual-polarized receive-diversity outperforms its counterparts in the presence of random orientation of mobile antenna.
