  • Abstract
    Dye molecules outside near the equator of an 102 /spl mu/m diameter sphere were excited, resulting in whispering-gallery-mode lasing in the lowest radial mode order with loaded quality factors reaching up to 8 /spl times/ 10/sup 9/.
