Abstract :
The National Guard facility located in AlAhsa whose rating is 5 MVA suffers from repetitive power service interruption, especially during peak times. Furthermore, the facility that includes utility, residential, and commercial is expected to go through so huge expansion that the existing power system cannot meet the new power demand. Thus, either the entire system has to be upgraded, or new system should be commissioned, considering the inferior reliability measures during summer session from Saudi Electricity Company (SEC). Alternatively, renewable resources-namely, solar and wind can replace the grid option for a continuous supply.
