Abstract :
In this paper, we present the Bit Error Rate (BER) analysis of a 10 Gbps triple-hop relay-assisted Free Space Optics (FSO) system using amplify-and-forward scheme over atmospheric turbulence. We investigate the performances of on-off keying non-return-to-zero (NRZ) and return-to-zero (RZ) modulation schemes through numerical simulations and by considering the average bit-error rate and the Q-factor, and show the advantage of using RZ pulse shaping. Furthermore, we present some experimental results that show how the eye diagram improves by increasing the number of hops.
