Abstract
This article aims to present the results of a PhD research which focused on analyzing the understanding and the practice of digital inclusion in the initial training of educators in distance learning from the Universidades Abertas (UAbs) from Brazil and Portugal. Through a multi-case study, a field research was carried out in the courses of Bachelor of Education (UAb from Portugal) and Pedagogy in Distance Learning (Santa Catarina State University). One of the research categories intended to understand whether the teaching staff working in both courses sees distance learning as a potential tool in the processes of digital inclusion, besides finding out how the teachers are working in their pedagogical practices in order to reach such goal. This analysis is presented in the text.
