  • Abstract
    The aim of this paper is to develop an automatic Region of Interest (ROI) extraction technique for a thyroid nodule ultrasound image. In this, discontinuity approach of segmentation is used for the automatic generation of Region of Interest. The algorithm needs no human intervention and is completely automatic. The method is validated on Thyroid Nodule Ultrasound images and is compared with other ROI extraction methods. Results prove that the proposed method is more efficient and robust in automatic ROI extraction and can successfully generate 98% true ROI consisting of thyroid nodule for Ultrasound images which is more accurate than other automatic ROI selection methods.
