Abstract :
A circularly polarized (CP) Microstrip Yagi array antenna (MSYA) is designed in order to achieve high front-to-back ratio R(F/B) and wide beamwidth radiation pattern. Two coaxial feeds with same magnitude and different phase is used to excite the antenna. Parametric studies are carried out to investigate the effects of some key geometrical sizes on the antenna´s performance. The overlapped band that |Γ| ≤ -10 dB and AR ≤ 3 dB is wide enough. The R(F/B) of the CP antenna is more than 15 dB and the antenna has wide beamwidth over the spatial range including 0° ≤ θ ≤ 90° in vertical plane and more than 90° in horizontal plane.
