Abstract :
MCR (Magnetically Controlled Reactor) is a powerful tool to settle the reactive power compensation problem. It has many advantage characteristics than the ordinary saturated reactor. In order to prove its functions, the application of MCR in a transformer substation is presented. First is how to design the components of MCR and how to calculate the parameters. Then the energy efficiency analysis is studied and in the end the risk analysis is discussed. In order to test the function of MCR, a case is enumerated to prove its efficacy.
