  • Abstract
Three-phase pulse-width modulation (PWM) rectifiers are being increasingly used as high performance grid interface in power systems like distributed and renewable energy generation. A new adaptive source voltages estimation method for sensorless control of PWM rectifier is developed in this paper. The proposed algorithm is based on a simple adaptive neural network (ANN) to estimate online the source voltages. The main advantage of this method is its simplicity and it requires low computational cost. The ANN estimator is inserted in voltage-oriented control (VOC) to perform an ac voltage sensorless control scheme of PWM rectifier. Numerical simulations are carried out to verify the feasibility and robustness of the proposed ANN estimator. Performances of the proposed sensorless control scheme are compared with those obtained from the VOC strategy with ac voltage sensor. Simulation results show good steady state and dynamic performances of the proposed ac voltage sensorless control scheme.
