Abstract :
In pre-silicon verification, debugging is done on large log files to analyze the causes of test failures. For this, verification engineers need to evaluate whether different flows of events have occurred during the test run, based on the values in log files. These complex flows can be evaluated more efficiently if the log information is converted to database. But, limited knowledge of SQL like query languages become a bottle neck for verification engineers to use the power of databases. We have designed a framework to assist them in defining and evaluating such event flows using a simple query language. We also compared the performance of our framework using structured and non-structured databases as back-end with the performance of existing traditional debug methodology. The performance of framework with non-structured database like elastic search was found to be considerably faster than that with relational database like MySQL over the existing system.
