Abstract
The Electrical Apparatus Service Association (EASA) is currently studying the effects on motor efficiency and performance that result when windings are stripped from motor cores by conventional means. Methods under investigation are temperature controlled burn-off ovens and chemical stripping techniques. No-load saturation and dynamometer tests will be conducted and recorded before and after each process. Test results will be compared for both processes. Since tests are still in progress, only available comparisons will be evaluated.
