Abstract
This article consists of a collection of slides from the author´s conference presentation on the concept of "surround computing." Some of the specific topics discussed include: an explanation of this concept whereby users want content anytime, any platform, and from anywhere; demands this has for data center platform design and computer architecture considerations; cloud computing constraints; the benefits of a heterogeneous system architecture; core processing capabilities; power management facilities; end-to-end system optimization needs; data and voice communications processing; and the next wave of surround computing in the marketplace.
