Abstract
This paper deals with the control of active and reactive power of a Wind Energy Conversion System with connection to the grid. A brushless doubly-fed generator (BDFM) is used. Centralized control based on Variable Structure Systems concepts is proposed to regulate active and reactive power in the system. Simulation results are presented to show the performance of the control algorithm proposed.
