Abstract
The study aims to combine the theories in Happiness Informatics with advanced trend of social science, in order to interpret and define the meaning of happiness. Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) measures blood oxygenation level-dependent (BOLD) signals to infer the association between brain functions and neural activities. According to the definition of hedonic and eudaimonic, the fMRI is used to explore the Subjective Well-being based on the neural mechanisms underlying the observation of happiness and well-being from participants. The proposed design and implementation facilitates the exploration towards neural mechanisms of happiness by Statistical Analysis. Experiment results are obtained from static activation maps generated. We conclude from this work that the neural mechanisms of happiness do exist.
