Abstract :
This paper summarizes recent experimental results verifying the free-space focusing properties of a fully printed volumetric negative refractive index transmission line (NRI-TL) metamaterial lens for a range of frequencies around 5.03 GHz, where it exhibits a negative refractive index of -1. The experiment was carried out in an anechoic chamber using a pair of electrically small shielded-loop antennas affixed to a computer-controlled scanner.
