  • Abstract
This paper presents the analysis of Available Transfer Capability (ATC) and power flows in transmission system considering the variations in Unified Power Flow Controller (UPFC) shunt and series parameters. Flowchart for calculating ATC including UPFC with change in its converters parameters has been discussed. The calculation of ATC with UPFC has been obtained by determining ACPTDF using Newton Rahpson (N-R) method. The impact of UPFC shunt and series voltages and angles has been studied on ATC varying the control parameters. The corresponding impact on AC Power transfer distribution factor (PTDF), power flows and ATC is analyzed. The results have been determined for IEEE 24 bus Reliability Test System and are shown in surface plots and 3D plots.
