Abstract :
A novel single-layer dual-band FSS with angular stability is proposed in this letter. The proposed FSS is consist of simply a metallic patch with crooked slots and a thin dielectric substrate. The FSS functioning as a band pass filter for satellite application at 1.575GHz and 2.491GHz which are the operating bands of GPS(L1) and BeiDou Navigation Satellite System(BDS). The overall size of the FSS unit cell is 0.15λ×0.15λ where λ corresponds to the wavelength of the first resonant frequency. Moreover, the proposed FSS also exerts high angular stability and it responses the same for both TE and TM operation modes because of its inherently symmetry.
