Abstract
This paper presents a technique for the fully automatic alignment of brain functional data, whose acquisition requires placing electrodes on the scalp (e.g. EEG, SEP, MEG), with MRI data of this head. The method does not require any external fiducial markers to be mounted on a patient´s head. It uses geometrical features derived from intrinsic object data to guide the alignment. Thus, it is comfortable, especially in numerous clinical examinations. The performance of the algorithm was evaluated in Monte Carlo multiple alignment trials for 4 human heads.
