Abstract :
Economic considerations are the primary limitation for application of computers in psychiatry in Poland. An economical approach has been developed and used to establish two databases for psychiatric studies. The first, BAZA 295, was established for epidemiological studies of schizophrenia; the other is intended for mortality studies. The authors depict goals and structures of the databases.
