Abstract
40 Gbit/s-based terabit-capacity 306 km unrepeatered transmission has been demonstrated for the first time. 100 GHz-spaced 25×40Gbit/s RZ signals were transmitted using 175 μm2-Aeff fibre with Q-factors all better than 15.6 dB without using a dedicated pump light transmission fibre for remote-EDFA.
