Abstract :
We expressed contour vibration modes of a thin square plate by velocity potentials. After a numerical calculation of impulse responses of particle velocity vectors on the surface of the plate, we derived some low frequency contour modes by velocity potentials obtained numerically by the particle velocity vectors. Then we could realize clearly which velocity potential, scalar or vector, was dominant and also what role both potentials had
