  • Abstract
Testing of many different piezoelectric elements in an MRI has shown that all are safe except for the Keramos NOVA-7A, which is not acceptable for imaging. The greatest improvement in the design of an MRI compatible transducer is the use of a "delay line" to remove the transducer out of the immediate field of view. Finally, functional MRI testing shows that the Exogen therapeutic transducer may work by increasing blood flow in the region of its use
