Abstract :
An ultrasound method for imaging the acoustic response of a material to mechanical excitation is reported. Harmonic mechanical excitation is produced using ultrasound beams that intersect at the point of interest. The multiplicity of beams have different frequencies to produce cyclic radiation pressure at the interference region of the focus. The method is useful for imaging calcification in tissues, and variations in hardness of soft tissues
