  • Abstract
Concerning the optimisation of manufacturing system performance, the part played by maintenance policies is of growing importance. In fact, an appropriate maintenance strategy leads to the optimal availability of equipment. After the design step, an appropriate strategy for preventive maintenance must be defined, particularly for systems that are prone to wear and ageing. This article presents a modular Petri net-based model of a manufacturing system with integrated maintenance, which takes account of the state of wear and ageing of the equipment.
