Abstract
Deaf people are unable to communicate using speech. They are resorted to use gesture communication. Currently most sign language resources in the web are in video format and they take significant amount of time to download. This paper proposes an online sign language communication system. The system consists of three parts: an editor to create the animation sequence for the sign language; a viewer applet for the user to view the sign language animation files online; and a website for people to upload their own sign language animation series and to learn sign language online. The system is simple, efficient with low cost.
