Abstract :
Ultrasound-velocity characteristics as the functions of the bias field for as-quenched state and after annealing at a temperature of 300/spl deg/C in air for 1 h are presented for Fe/sub 73.5/Cu/sub 1/T/sub 3/Si/sub 13.5/B/sub 9/ metallic glasses (where T=Cr, Zr, Sb, Ta, Nb, W, V). The highest changes of sound velocities were observed for T=Nb and Ta. Annealing below the Curie point (about 320/spl deg/C) partially removes internal stresses and improves piezomagnetic properties.
