Abstract
An approach based on percolation lattices for modeling wireless links in urban areas is considered. The model is quite promising, but its practical application requires some refinements related to some basic hypotheses made about our analytical derivations. We present partial results of this attempt after having reviewed some of the main relationships obtained with our model in recent years. We report what we believe are the relevant open problems which still wait for a solution, along with some research lines we are following to fill this gap.
