  • Abstract
This paper investigates a novel transverse flux magnetic gear using ferrite and NdFeB magnets. The transverse flux magnetic gear topology offers the advantage of a simpler mechanical construction. In order to increase the air-gap flux density the magnets are arranged in flux focusing configuration. The performance when using soft magnetic composite material is also compared.
