Abstract :
We studied the basic shapes of surface MUAPs of the FDI muscle using a wavelet matching technique. By averaging surface EMGs triggered by the intramuscular EMG, we found the surface MUAPs matched very well with the selected wavelets. It provides us a potential way to quantify the surface EMG by estimating the number of the action potentials contained within it.
