Abstract :
We asked each contributor to this issue to outline the philosophy of management that has proved effective in his particular enterprise, and how it is structured organisationally. How are those who begin their careers as technical and functional specialists helped to develop so that they can go on to wider responsibilities in general management and in policy formulation?
