Abstract
The authors describe how integrated gasification/Fischer-Tropsch synthesis (IGFT) technology could help meet the needs for clean hydrocarbon fuels that comply with stringent air quality standards using domestic resources. They detail how an IGFT plant at a location next to a coalmine would consist of a gasification block, a syngas treatment and water-gas shift section, an F-T synthesis block, and a product-upgrading unit.
